Of course we hope that you are happy with our service. But what if you're not?
Dissatisfied or complaints? Talk about it!
It is important that you feel comfortable with your midwife. Because being pregnant is exciting enough. We do our utmost to guide you and your pregnancy as well as possible. But it may happen that you still have questions, doubts or dissatisfaction with our concern. Although that is sometimes difficult, we'd encourage you to talk to us about this. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding or we can reassure you. Or maybe we can adjust our working method slightly so that it better suits your needs.
Discuss your complaint with a Complaints Officer
If a meeting is unsuccessful, or if there are reasons not to start that meeting, you can submit your complaint to the complaints officer of the CBKZ (Central Bureau Klachtenmanagement Zorg). The complaints officer is impartial and can advise and inform you about your rights as a patient. He or she can help you submit your complaint to the midwife and support you in a possible conversation. The complaints officer has professional confidentiality; this means that he or she will never tell others about your complaint without your permission.
You can contact a complaints officer via www.klachtverloskunde.nl (Dutch website but English is spoken)
Submit your complaint to the Geschillencommissie Verloskunde
If you cannot reach an agreement with the midwife and the mediation of the complaints officer, you can finally submit your complaint to the Geschillencommissie Verloskunde (Disputes Authority). This independent board investigates and assesses whether your complaint is justified. It makes a binding decision on this. For more information and contact, visit the website of the geschillencommissie.
